New York State’s health care system is recognized as having some of the most comprehensive home and community-based programs in the nation. As political leaders continue the charge of finding innovative solutions for controlling hospital and nursing home costs, greater emphasis is placed on home care as a viable delivery solution. It becomes incumbent upon certified home health agencies throughout the nation to rise to the challenge of creating a patient-centered system.
In 2006, VNA Systems, Inc., which includes Visiting Nurse Association of Central New York, Inc., Independent Health Care Services, Inc., and affiliate agency CCH Home Care & Palliative Services, Inc., made a concerted effort to promote positive agency change and growth, with a goal of delivering a higher level of home care. This was accomplished by embracing more than a century of experience, while looking to progressive and forward-thinking innovations for guidance.
